Daniel has experience in computer repair and is working to enter the IT field, he is from the USA
Daniel has worked at a small computer repair shop for a year. He has always tinkered with electronic and is currently studying for the CompTIA Trifecta, to enter the IT field. This homelab will certainly be great to add to his resume as well.

Hardware
WD Passport Ultra
ZOTAC Zbox Pl1331
tp-link 8 port gigabit unmanaged switch
sabrent external HDD enclosure with a 10tb 7200rpm HDD
thinkcentre 720q
Software
Thinkcentre
running Ubuntu Server LTS with docker installed
Docker containers are portainer, watch tower, plex, and pihole. Although I’m debating switching to adguard from pihole.
The Zotac mini pc will run a similar setup once configured but with only an open source NAS solution as a container in docker.
What inspired you to build your homelab, and what’s its main purpose today?
Well I'm currently studying towards my CompTia certifications and I used to have an old hp laptop i used for plex. That died on me and I went without a home server/lab for awhile, I figured since Im studying towards a job in the IT field that getting hands on with some diy projects would be fun and help, that plus I missed plex and running a home server.
What’s one part of your setup (hardware or software) that you’re especially proud of — and why?
Id say the form factor and look of it. Its just a nice simple homelab thats reliable and works.
What are your next plans, experiments, or dream upgrades for your lab?
I plan to eventually get a 10 inch server rack and put this setup in that along with a 4 bay DAS and maybe another thinkcentre to run proxmox.
