What inspired you to build your homelab, and what’s its main purpose today?

I started my homelab with the nuc in 2017 because I simply needed a linux machine to run stuff on. Then during the pandemic I started getting into self hosting so I repurposed the nuc for it. Then I got a NAS because I've fully moved from cloud to self hosting. Finally I recently got a ms-01 with a gpu in it for local llm and remote gaming.

What’s one part of your setup (hardware or software) that you’re especially proud of — and why?

Cat spikes ;) most cost-effective upgrade I've gotten

What are your next plans, experiments, or dream upgrades for your lab?

I just recently got the ms-01 and rtx 2000e. I plan to run a windows vm in proxmox for llm and remote gaming in it among other things. I feel pretty content with the setup for now hardware wise. Maybe one more jetkvm?
